Era New Horizons Festival takes place every summer in Wroclaw (before it was Cieszyn).
The Festival's main purpose is to present 'artistic, unconventional and non-compromise' cinema creations to experienced and acquainted but also fastidious public. It gathers hundreds of spectators who regard cinema not only as a great time-consuming fun but also as an escape to another world, full of new experiences and experiments. They look for themselves and try to put things in the festival's atmosphere, always finding something original for every one of them.

The Festival consists of several parts, let's say - events prepared by Gutek Film Production Company for the wide public. One of these parts is a competition section, which includes several films that hadn't been presented in Poland before. All these films are being chosen by the organizers who select them from many other titles showed on international film festivals all over the world. One production is being selected by the public and awarded with Grand Prix festival award.

Another part of the festival is a presentation of dozens of films categorized into several groups, e.g. world cinema, documentaries, season films, Latin American films, Bollywood (Indian cinema) productions and many others.
The festival's other attraction is also a great number of meetings with world remarkable film producers and directors (e.g. Polish Oscar award laureate Andrzej Wajda).

Film and Art Festival have been taking place every year since 1995. Its first edition, a four-day festival of about 20 films, gathered lots of film fans in Kazimierz Dolny.
For many years the festival was widening and growing, gaining more and more popularity every year. It is a place of many Polish film and TV stars meeting, watching latest film masterpieces and having fun in the beautiful surroundings of monumental Kazimierz Dolny town laid upon Vistula River.
The festival itself is a film marathon that includes the best feature films, documentaries, short films and also theatrical and TV spectacles. Every day there are also many first night displays, which make a great introduction to the main festival's events. There are also many other artistic events lice music concerts, visual arts exhibitions, meetings with many remarkable personalities, etc., which are additional attraction for all the festival's guests.

Film and Art Festival is not only a review, but also a competition. The festival's best film is being chosen by the public and the most remarkable film creators and institutions - by the Festival's Council. Both winners are granted with Kazimierz Wielki (Kazimierz the Great - Polish king) Crown.
Many Polish remarkable directors were granted with the Crown, e.g. Krzysztof Zanussi, Jerzy Kawalerowicz, Janusz Zaorski, Marek Piwowski, Kazimierz Kutz and Radoslaw Piwowarski.
In 2005 the festival was moved to Torun - one of the most beautiful cities in Poland.
